Weekly Club Meetings
CCCW meets weekly on Monday nights. Our programs include speakers on a wide range of topics of interest to photographers, competitions and workshops. There is an opportunity, prior to the meeting, to talk to other members of the club and share coffee and cake. Our meetings are free and open to members and guests.
Photo Competitions and Critiques
Each year, all club members are eligible to participate in the 9 digital photography competitions (traditional and new dimensions categories) and the 3 print competitions. Each member chooses to compete at one of three levels, depending on their experience. A guest judge critiques each competition photo and offers valuable feedback and helpful hints on creativity and technique.
Mentoring Programs
The mentoring program is a series of small group workshops given by advanced photographers willing to share their knowledge with others. It's an opportunity to learn new skills and get to know other members of the club. The programs range from introductory information in Camera Basics and Introduction to Photoshop to advanced topics like action photography and night photography. This program is open to CCCW club members only.
Field Trips
The club organizes several field trips every year for members to photograph as a group and share skills and tips. Scenic sites are selected such as Grand Central Station, the Central Park Zoo, Steinhardt Gardens, The Brooklyn Navy Yard, and dozens more. This program is open to CCCW club members only.
Opportunities to Exhibit
Club members have the opportunity to display, and potentially sell, their printed photographs in exhibitions that are arranged by the club at local venues including libraries, galleries, senior facilities.
